New to Open Arms?

Welcome

Open Arms Church is a place where people can meet Jesus and engage in life-giving community.  We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory.  We encourage you to come as you are as we welcome All with Open Arms!

What to expect...

Parking -

Enter our parking lots off of 8th Street, 9th Street, or Louisiana Avenue.  We offer guest parking spaces between the Church building and the Child Development Center building.

Attire -

The atmosphere is warm and casual and most people dress in a comfortable, casual manner.  Whether you prefer a tie or blue jeans, we want you to come as you are.

Before the service -

We hope you will come early to enjoy complimentary refreshments and meet new friends.  Pick up a bulletin at the Information Center in the lobby.  It will have information on upcoming events as well as an outline to follow during the message.

The Worship Service -

Our service is casual, contemporary, and spiritually refreshing.
Seating -

We offer round table seating as well as rows of chairs.  Feel free to bring your refreshments into the Worship Center and sit wherever you feel comfortable.

Announcements -

The pastor will take a few minutes to let us know what's coming up at Open Arms.

Children -

Following the music and announcements, the pastor welcomes children to sit on the platform with him as he shares a message created especially for them.  A cry room is available with CCTV of the worship service.  It is located through the lobby, across from the restrooms.

Music -

Our Praise Band leads us into worship with a variety of current praise and worship songs, as well as an occasional hymn.

Message -

The pastor shares God's Word with us and helps us understand how it applies to everyday life.

Communion -

All those who share our belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome to partake.  We line up along the center aisle, row by row, then take communion either indiviudally or in groups of family and friends.

Offering -

We don't pass the plate, but offerings can be placed in an evelope and dropped in the baskets in the front row.  We also have a convenient and secure online giving portal.

Lord's Prayer -

At the end of the service, we hold hands (optional), recite the Lord's Prayer, and close by lifting hands and saying, "Rejoice!"
